Boomerang cold
Perfect, after patting myself on the back for having such a healthy winter, I get sick!
This was me last week, no there’s no picture, I wouldn’t do that to anyone. Last Tuesday I woke up sick…sore throat, head ache and oh so tired!
I drive our pup to daycare, to spend the day burning off his boundless energy with his doggie friends, come home. Decide yup, I’m definitely sick, cancel my day and go straight to bed. And stay there, more or less for two straight days. Sleeping..because really that’s one of the things our body is telling us when we get sick..slow down, relax, rest.
I also get all oiled up with my Young Living Essential Oils to support my immune system. Drink lot’s of liquids, hot lemon water with apple cider vinegar and honey, herbal tea, veggie broth and soup….ah soup…
This is one of my favourites, so easy to make and it freezes really well.
“Cream” of Broccoli Soup
1 onion, chopped
1 lg clove of garlic, chopped
Saute in 1 Tble coconut oil in large pot until tender, about 5 minutes.
Add
3 cups vegetable broth
500 gm package of frozen broccoli
Bring to a boil, cover and simmer on low heat for 10-15 minutes, until broccoli is tender.
Add
½ tsp of Redmond Real Salt
¼ tsp Herbamare seasoning (or more to taste)
Blend in a blender until smooth. Serve with a large “pinch” of grated real parmesan cheese (or not).
Make yourself a batch, along with some vegetable (or bone) broth, and stick it in the freezer for a sick day, or a lazy day, which ever comes first. You’ll be glad you did!
