Feeling all the feelings!

I’m committed to thirty days of emotional detox!
I’m feeling all the feelings and letting them go! And with everything that’s going on in the world, there’s no better time.

Here’s what I’ve learned about feelings versus emotions because lets face it, we all use the terms interchangeably. And no wonder, there can be a fine line between the two.

Feelings are reactions, sensations or impressions in our physical body.

Emotions are a strong surge of feelings marked by an impulse to express, a moving of the mind or soul.

So our emotions are an outward expression of our feelings.

To go a bit further, thoughts are when we use our mind deliberately and actively.

So we have a feeling, in our body, then with our mind we name the feeling (emotion) and then express it…. or not.

Expression of our strong emotions help to release the feeling from our physical body. Remember every experience we have, becomes a part of who we are. We are mind/body/spirit.

Now I’m not sure about you, but for me naming and expressing my feelings (emotions) doesn’t come naturally. Like many I have a bunch of beliefs around that.

And beliefs, this is really interesting, is acceptance of the truth of anything WITHOUT certain proof. They are established as the results of conclusions from the experiences our feelings and thoughts bring to us.

So because thoughts, emotions and beliefs are really just energy like everything else, we can change or alter them. We have the power to take control and change our lives!

How? Using tools like essential oils,Tapping, affirmations, journaling, Trauma Release Exercises, etc.

Why? When we hide our feelings and suppress our emotions we get dis-ease in the body.

In my personal and professional experience all disease has an emotional component that has to be addressed for true healing to take place.

We’re like onions, with layers and layers..always something to work on, release or alter.

Returning to balance, to ease.
